BURN
Memory – The first burn is very important because it creates a ‘memory’ for the life of the candle. When you initially burn your candle allow it to do so for approximately 3 hours (never less than 1 and no more than 4).
Make sure the wax melts till it reaches the edge of the jar. This will prevent tunneling.
Colour – try to avoid leaving your candle directly under sunlight as this may change the colour to a yellowish/brown. This will not affect the quality of the candle but might not be as attractive.
When burning, make sure to keep candle away from draft areas as these may affect burn quality.
Always have the candle closed when not in use as this prevents dust build-up and maximize scent throw.
WICK
Trim- To maintain a leveled and fresh burn make sure the wick is trimmed to ¼ inch before every burn (pinch off the black frail fragments of the wood wick and light).
SAFETY
A candle should never be left unattended whilst burning.
A heat resistant surface should be used when burning a candle.
Anything that can catch alight should be kept away from burning candle.
Ensure children and pets are kept away from burning candle.
Never use water to put out a burning candle, either use a candle snuffer or blow out gently.
Never move a burning candle, put out, allow to cool and set, then move.
Do not pour water and wax down the sink when it is still hot, as it will clog the drain.
